Seriously, the government has completely missed the point here. Expanding gambling without sufficient safeguards and cutting addiction funding is irresponsible. People are going to lose, and there’s no safety net for them.
While it’s impressive to see these business owners paying so much in taxes, we can’t ignore the fact that the people fueling these profits are often the ones paying the highest price. Gambling addiction is a real issue, and there needs to be more support for players in need.
