Stake Appoints Canadian Point Man for Regulated Sports Betting and iGaming Expansion
Stake's new Canadian country manager outlines the company's push into regulated markets.
Stake, an online sportsbook and casino operator, is strengthening its presence in Canada by preparing to comply with local regulations in Ontario and beyond.
On Friday, Easygo, the Australia-based parent company of Stake, announced the appointment of Kris Abbott as its country manager for Canada. Abbott will lead Stake’s operations in Canada, drawing on his experience in similar roles at Betano and Coolbet during their regulated expansion in the country. Easygo, which also owns the Kick streaming platform, sees this move as a testament to its commitment to operating within regulated environments.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kris Abbott to guide our efforts in Canada," said Brais Pena, chief strategy officer at Easygo, in a press release. "His deep understanding of the Canadian market combined with his strategic vision will be important as we navigate regulatory landscapes and strive to deliver exceptional experiences to our customers."

WaifuKnifu Damn, if they really pay 10% without hidden fees, this is a cool topic for developers!

FroggiAshhh If Saka goes off today, no amount of ball-passing will save PSG. It's all or nothing!

Easygo’s commitment to regulation is a smart move. Kris Abbott's experience is exactly what Stake needs to navigate the Canadian landscape effectively.
Exciting news! It's about time we had more regulated options here in Ontario. Welcome aboard, Kris!
With Abbott’s track record at Betano and Coolbet, I’m confident Stake will thrive in the regulated Canadian market.
Great to see Stake taking regulations seriously in Canada. Looking forward to seeing what Kris Abbott brings to the table!
