Casino de Charlevoix is one of Quebec's most iconic land-based casinos, located in La Malbaie within the Charlevoix-Est region. History
The Casino de Charlevoix was inaugurated on June 24, 1994, and originally housed in the former summer theatre of Manoir Richelieu, perched on the cliffs of Pointe-au-Pic. This panoramic site had already been attracting visitors for over a century.
In 1998, Loto-Québec partnered with Canadian Pacific and the Fonds de solidarité FTQ to acquire and renovate the Manoir Richelieu, now known as Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. When the resort reopened in 1999, the casino was expanded, becoming the first casino in Quebec to be directly connected to a hotel.
Further expansions followed, including the addition of seven table games and nearly 400 slot machines. In 2008, the casino introduced Bar 21, a 200-seat entertainment and show bar. In 2016, the venue welcomed a St-Hubert restaurant, further enhancing its dining offerings.
