The Casino de Charlevoix is situated in La Malbaie in the regional county municipality of Charlevoix-Est in Quebec (Canada).
History
Inaugurated on June 24, 1994, the Casino de Charlevoix was housed in the former summer theater of the Manoir Richelieu, formerly called Le Casino, on the cliff of Pointe-au-Pic, a panoramic site frequented for more than a century by vacationers.
In 1998, Loto-Québec joined forces with Canadian Pacific and the Fonds de solidarité FTQ to purchase the Manoir Richelieu (Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu). They renovate it and expanded the Casino de Charlevoix. When it re-opened in 1999, the resort was a world-class resort. The Casino de Charlevoix thus becomes the first casino 1 to be twinned with a hotel establishment.
On this occasion, the Casino de Charlevoix was enlarged for the first time, allowing the addition of seven table games and nearly 400 slot machines. In 2008, it was again the subject of work to add a 200-seat show bar called Bar 21.
In 2016, the Casino became a franchisee of the St-Hubert restaurant chain.

Not much to say about this location. My wife, kid, and I rode the gondola to the casino, then we strolled over and entered. Lady wouldn't allow my child remain in the area where there was no gambling while we walked inside and quickly spent $100 US. Lady, it has been taken off the casino floor, cordoned off, and guarded.
This casino did not impress me in the least, and paying for parking is a significant issue. They demand $3.00 per hour. What a rip-off! as if they do not already receive enough money. I've never heard of a casino charging for parking. I'm not coming back.
For a fourth consecutive year ... it was chaos! Long wait .... no possibility to eat at the St Hubert of the casino, but you could have alcohol there ????? ... no drink at the casino, but all non-alcoholic drinks yes .... ... ????????????????? We wait to go on the terrace at the bar of the manor ... but 3 couples go before us 3 ??? It was the ....complete ... an ordinary stay as you wish .... we left the next morning at 7am !!!
Nice place and great location near the river. The place is well ventilated and everything is super clean. We enjoyed our evening.
I don't know if it was covid that killed the facility, but I found the ambiance to be frankly dead. You can tell it's not that big already and with most tables / machines closed, that doesn't improve matters. This is obviously not their fault. The people looked like living dead. There is no animation, everything was cold, lifeless.
