6We couldn't wait to go outside and check out the casino. It had very ancient video machines and was extremely small. Several elderly people in the afternoon. Not knowing how it would be at night, she had no inclination to give it another shot.
The employees could be a little friendlier, as they were not at all helpful and merely wanted to go home as it was getting close to closing time. The casino actually closed 10 minutes before closing time; it appeared that a very unprofessional attitude was there and that the main priority was closing up shop before closing time.
I have never seen such outdated machines in my life; they are worn out, some of the buttons don't function, the area is unclean, and it is obvious that the equipment is not well maintained. I was eager to play at the casino while my husband and I were staying at a resort up there. I will never visit there again since I was so disappointed.
Very good food in the dining area, nice atmosphere, while eating you can attend the horse racing program, i.e. 10 races. To attend even if we know nothing about horse racing.
The restaurant: a very good all-you-can-eat buffet, for as little as $ 15 for lunch. The casino: an atmosphere of a funeral home, with 2 or 3 elderly people blazing their retirement in slot machines. No interest for a tourist. Races on the other hand are very interesting, even for someone who has never been to a race before. Bet a little $ 2 on your favorite horse, and watch it run from inside or outside depending on the temperature, you never get tired of it! Another interesting point: the racecourse is less than 5km from the city center (waterfront, restaurants, bars, amphitheater with cirque du soleil established for the next 4 years ...) In short, you can easily enjoy the races in the afternoon and downtown in the evening.

The Trois-Rivières Hippodrome, also called Hippodrome 3R, is a horse racing course located in Trois-Rivières, Mauricie, Quebec (Canada). It is located at 1850 boulevard des Forges. The oldest racetrack in the province of Quebec, in continuous operation since 1830, remains the only professional-class racetrack still in operation on Quebec soil Horse races are held there from May to October, twice a week.
History
The renowned Summer Prize has been held there annually since 2014. The history of the Trois-Rivières racecourse dates back to 1830, when a wealthy merchant from Trois-Rivières by the name of Moses Hart intended a large expanse of land for a racing site in Trois-Rivières. The first horse races took place in October of the same year. Located completely away from the buildings of the city, the "round of races", located in the same place as today, remains, with its platform built by Jos Hamel in 1853, the only sign of occupation of the Côteau Saint -Louis until 1896. Under the influence of the English, it is initially horses ridden by riders who compete.
These galloping competitions will obtain their letters of nobility early in Trois-Rivières, when on June 13, 1836, His Majesty William IV will offer a free purse of fifty guineas for the races which will take place on July 28 and 29. Organized by the Three Rivers Turf Club in the 1850s, by the Saint-Maurice Turf Club in the 1860s, or by ordinary amateurs throwing challenges through the newspapers, horse races regularly draw huge crowds. In 1896, the Agricultural Association of the District of Trois-Rivières acquired a large piece of land including a one-mile running track to set up an exhibition ground. She adds a second half-mile route to it.
On a sandy bottom covered with clay, the new course is 70 feet wide and is said to be very solid. The large wooden platform has 21 bleachers while in front of the popular platforms, on the other side of the track, stands the judges' stand. On the adjacent land, stables are erected by the Exhibition Company, which organizes horse races and, occasionally, cyclists. In September 1898, it even presented a special attraction, a race between a horse and a cyclist.
