Stoney Nakoda Casino officially opened in 2008 and quickly became one of Alberta's most scenic casino destinations. Owned and operated by the Stoney Tribal Administration and managed by Stagewest Hospitality, the casino is located just off the Trans-Canada Highway in the heart of Kananaskis Country.
With breathtaking mountain views, a connected resort hotel, and a relaxed yet lively gaming atmosphere, Stoney Nakoda Casino appeals to both casual visitors and travellers seeking a romantic or nature-focused getaway combined with casino entertainment.
Slots
Stoney Nakoda Casino features approximately 300 slot machines, offering a solid mix of classic reel slots, video slots, and video poker. Denominations cater to both low-stakes players and those looking for higher-value wagers, making the slot floor accessible to a wide range of visitors.
The gaming area is well laid out, providing a comfortable environment to enjoy themed slots, bonus features, and steady-paced gameplay. Whether you prefer traditional machines or modern video slots, the selection is well balanced for a mid-sized resort casino.
Table Games
The casino offers around 14 live table games, delivering a Las Vegas–style gaming experience in a mountain setting. Available games include Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Mini Baccarat, and Ultimate Texas Hold’em.
Players can also enjoy off-track horse betting in the Sidelines Lounge, adding variety beyond traditional casino games. Regular tournaments further enhance the appeal for table game enthusiasts, while affordable $2 Blackjack tables on Fridays and Saturdays make the casino welcoming for beginners.
Loyalty Program
Winner’s Edge is Alberta’s first casino loyalty program and rewards players for both slot and table game play. Registration is free and available at the Winner’s Edge kiosk or Guest Services desk.
Members earn points during play that can be redeemed for gaming perks, dining rewards, and exclusive offers, making repeat visits more rewarding.
Dining
Dining at Stoney Nakoda Casino is designed to be both welcoming and versatile. The Ridge Restaurant offers daily à la carte dining in a family-friendly setting, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
For a more relaxed atmosphere, Sidelines Lounge provides drinks, light meals, and live sports on large screens. It is also the hub for off-track betting, making it a popular spot for both sports fans and casual diners.

I wouldn’t return.
Stoney Nakoda Casino feels like a relic from another era.
I've eaten at buffets at several casinos, but this is the first one I've ever been to that didn't promote its price or require upfront payment. If you love seafood, the variety was only average but still acceptable. However in contrast to other casinos, the buffet is pricey.
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The room was rather standard. Modern but simple. Worth what you pay even though not high quality.
The pricing we were quoted over the phone when we booked the reservation and the amount they charged our credit card differed, which was another problem. The credit on our card needed to be approved by a supervisor.
