This is a slot that’s clearly been carefully designed, maybe a little too carefully, to the point where it never really cuts loose.

Low- and mid-value symbols connect occasionally, wilds substitute where expected, and that’s about it. There’s no real momentum-building mechanic outside of waiting for the bonus.
