Arturo Vidal has launched his own betting platform Juego con el King: a new scandal?
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich midfielder, and now a player of the Chilean club Colo-Colo Arturo Vidal announced the launch of his own betting and casino platform called Juego con el King. The athlete spoke about this on his social networks.
According to Vidal, a special lottery will be held for new users of the service with cash prizes, game consoles and smartphones. In his post, he wrote:
"Play with King, a new platform where passion for sports turns into a chance to win! High odds, 24/7 support and fast payouts! Register, bet and win on juegaconelking."
The project is aimed at the Chilean audience, which is explicitly stated on the company's official website. However, at the same time, the platform does not indicate the presence of licenses to operate, which has already caused dissatisfaction among representatives of the country's legal gambling operators. The latter have long opposed the influx of unlicensed brands that threaten the regulated market.
The situation is complicated by the fact that according to the rules of the International Football Federation (FIFA), active athletes are prohibited from being owners of bookmakers due to a possible conflict of interest. In this regard, in the near future we can expect an official reaction from football structures.
Vidal's project has just been launched, and a scandal is already beginning to flare up around it. Time will tell whether it will develop further or the athlete will have to curtail the business.
