BC.Game: Attempt to cancel bankruptcy and return Curaçao licence amid scandals
The operator of the BC.Game is taking steps to get out of bankruptcy proceedings in Curaçao. According to the industry publication NEXT.io, the trustee in the case, Barbara Nagelmakers, sent documents to the court demanding a review of the decision, because of which the gambling operator lost its prestigious license in the fall of 2024.
As grounds for the review, Nagelmakers points to the "low probability of recovery of the disputed claims." Simply put, the chances of players being able to get their money back through bankruptcy proceedings are minimal. In addition, it turned out that the SBGOK Foundation, which was the initiator of the entire process, simply did not have enough financial resources to continue conducting the case.
The total amount of claims from players against the casino exceeds $2.5 million. The largest lawsuit came from a user from Indonesia who was unable to withdraw his winnings from a deposit exceeding $1 million in USDT. Representatives of BC.Game rejected the claim, accusing the player of using multiple accounts (multi-accounting). However, according to lawyers, the cause of the problem could be a technical failure related to authorisation through the Google Authenticator application, which could lead to the involuntary creation of duplicate accounts.
After a high-profile scandal and the loss of Curaçao's license, BC.Game did not cease its activities, but came under the jurisdiction of Anjouan. Subsequently, another unpleasant fact was revealed: the company that issued this licence to the operator turned out to be a fictitious structure, which called into question the legality of all his work.
For now, the operator is likely to try to use Curaçao's updated gambling legislation to reinstate its core license. Meanwhile, concerns about the offshore iGaming sector are growing in Europe. There is a risk that financial regulators may block companies with an Anjouan license from accessing European payment systems. Such a move would deal a serious blow not only to BC.Game, but also throughout the industry operating in offshore jurisdictions.
The fund that initiated the bankruptcy itself went bankrupt, not even having money for the process? What kind of comedy is this? Looks like a setup to let the casino walk away unscathed. “We tried, but couldn’t.” And the players are left with nothing again.
It’s a great casino, I’ve never had problems with withdrawals!
Millions in USDT… I can’t even imagine what that kind of money is. And they still can’t withdraw it. Meanwhile, I’m here stressing over my mortgage.
Interesting situation with “Google Authenticator.” If this really is a bug, it’s a serious precedent. It means the casino could accuse anyone of multi-accounting, blaming a technical error that isn’t even their fault. Everything seems shady…
I had $200 stuck there. Not a huge amount, but still annoying. Support kept giving me the runaround and then just stopped replying. I hope they get properly pressured.
