Kick captures the streaming market and overtakes Twitch in the Spanish segment
The Kick platform continues to gain momentum in the world of streaming. According to one of its co-founders, Bijan Tehrani, the service surpassed the milestone of 1 billion hours watched in the second quarter of 2025. This gave the platform a 26% share of the global streaming market, against 74% for Twitch, which is still the leader, but no longer as unattainable as before.
The statistics on the Spanish-speaking audience are especially interesting: here Kick overtook Twitch, taking 54% against 46%. This is an important signal - the segments previously monopolized by the Amazon platform have begun to collapse.
Tehrani recalled that the story of Kick began only three years ago — and not with a blessing, but with a conflict: after Twitch blocked the account of one of the future founders of Kick and at the same time reduced payments to streamers, the team decided to create an alternative.
"They laughed at us, they said we couldn't compete," Tehrani said in a LinkedIn post. Today, the laughter sounds different: Kick is becoming a real competitor, not just an experiment.
Now both former Twitch tops (like Roshtein or Adin Ross) and new faces attracted by better monetization and softer ones are actively streaming on Kick rules. Despite criticism for loyalty to gambling content and the lack of strict moderation, the platform has clearly found its niche and audience.

celese Haha, classic! First they screwed over the players, then the license turned out to be fake, and now they’re trying to undo everything. A total circus. Yeah, everything will just get bought. They’ll pay whoever they need in Curaçao and get a new license. Money rules everything, especially in this industry.

I do not care, who is interested in watching it?
Twitch shit
I left Twitch for Kick as soon as my income was cut off. Here they pay many times better and less control.
Streamer?
Kick really did it! Who would have thought that Twitch would deflate so much in a couple of years?
