New bill in New York: control over deposits and advertising
The New York State Legislative Assembly has received an initiative aimed at tightening the rules in the field of online gambling. The bill concerns two key areas at once: deposit limits and restrictions on the advertising activity of operators.
Deposit limit: no more than $5000 per day
The authors of the initiative propose to set a strict daily limit on the amounts that players can deposit in the casino - a maximum of $5000 per day. This decision is aimed at reducing the risk of gambling addiction and protecting the financial stability of users.
Such a measure can especially hit high rollers and those who are used to large bets. However, on the other hand, for most players, this amount is quite sufficient, and for vulnerable groups it can become an additional insurance.
Advertising is prohibited: neither in the morning, nor in the evening, nor during matches
The second part of the bill concerns marketing. Legislators want to ban the display of gambling ads from 8:00 to 22:00, as well as completely exclude advertising during sports broadcasts.

In 2024 alone, the revenue of the gambling industry in the state amounted to $2.14 billion. New York is one of the most profitable markets in the United States, and any changes in legislation can affect dozens of operators, advertising agencies, and, of course, players.
