Bear Claw Casino is located in the naturally scenic Moose Mountain area of southeastern Saskatchewan and is owned and operated by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA). The casino originally opened in 1993, closed shortly after, and was successfully reopened in 1996. Since then, it has grown into a modest yet welcoming gaming destination that blends entertainment with the tranquility of nature.
Over the years, Bear Claw Casino has expanded its facilities to include an on-site hotel and multiple dining options, making it a convenient stop for both local visitors and travellers exploring the Moose Mountain region. While smaller than many urban casinos, it focuses on relaxed gameplay, personalized service, and a laid-back atmosphere.
History
Bear Claw Casino was one of SIGA’s early gaming projects, developed to support economic growth and employment opportunities for Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan. After its initial opening in 1993, operational challenges led to a temporary closure. The casino was relaunched in 1996 with a clearer vision and stronger operational foundation.
Since reopening, Bear Claw Casino has steadily evolved by adding hospitality services, including a hotel and dining venues. Today, it continues to serve as both an entertainment venue and a community-focused operation, contributing to regional tourism near Moose Mountain Provincial Park.
Slots
Bear Claw Casino offers more than 132 slot machines, providing a compact but diverse selection suitable for casual players. Guests can enjoy a mix of classic reel slots and modern video slot machines with varying themes and betting limits. This makes it easy for players to find games that match their preferences without feeling overwhelmed by a massive gaming floor.
The slot area is designed for comfort and accessibility, with a relaxed pace that appeals to visitors who prefer a quieter casino environment. While jackpots are smaller compared to major casinos, the intimate setting allows for an enjoyable and stress-free gaming experience.
Table Games
The casino features four live table games, focusing on popular card-based options. Available games include Blackjack, Poker, and Phil’em Up, all hosted by professional dealers in a friendly, approachable atmosphere.
Although the table game selection is limited, it caters well to players who enjoy traditional casino classics. The smaller number of tables often results in a more personal experience, making it a good choice for beginners or those who prefer less crowded gaming areas.
Rewards
Bear Claw Casino participates in SIGA’s Players Club rewards program. By using a Players Club card, guests can earn points on both slot and table game play. These points can be redeemed for cash back, discounts, and special offers.
Players earn $5 in cash for every 1,000 points redeemed, and the same Players Club card can be used at all SIGA casinos across Saskatchewan. Membership is free and easy to obtain at the casino.
Dining
Dining at Bear Claw Casino is casual and convenient. Guests can enjoy a relaxed sit-down meal at Growlers Restaurant, which offers hearty comfort food suitable for lunch or dinner. For quicker options, the casino also features a deli and Charley Biggs’ Chicken, ideal for players who want a fast meal between gaming sessions.
The dining options complement the casino’s laid-back style, focusing on satisfying meals rather than fine dining, making it a comfortable choice for extended stays.
Bear Claw Casino is best suited for players who value a calm gaming environment, friendly service, and close proximity to nature. While it may not offer extensive gaming variety, it delivers a comfortable and enjoyable experience supported by on-site accommodations and dining.

I didn’t like it.
Bear Claw Casino doesn’t feel responsible.
Black jack has two open tables, and there are two other table games available, including a busy roulette table. The remaining space was largely unoccupied. Self-serve drinks with little activity. Location seemed lovely and tidy.
After a tiring 9-hour travel, we stayed there. Excellent, cosy, and clean beds. Rooms are being renovated. The bathroom is clean but just contains a few toiletries. It still looks horrible in the lobby. It's time to replace the carpet. Cleansing won't improve the appearance. Room hallways also require replacement.
We went to the casino on Saturday night. The parking lot is hell, at the entrance we ask for information to have tokens we are sent to the central cashier and at the cashier we are told to put the money at the table we will be given tokens?!?
