Casumo takes on mkodo Technology to Strengthen its Presence in Ontario's iGaming Industry

Casumo is expanding its operations in Ontario's regulated online gambling and sports betting market. The operator recently announced its partnership with mkodo to integrate the GeoLocs geolocation verification solution into its business in the province, ensuring full compliance with geolocation requirements.

In April 2022, Ontario became the first Canadian province to open its online gambling market to third-party operators, resulting in numerous operators obtaining licences to operate legally in the province. The goal of the iGaming sector was to prevent local bettors from using offshore websites and to retain a portion of the revenue within the province.

Casumo was granted entry into the Ontario iGaming market by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario in June 2022, and it launched its online operations in the province in November 2022. The province had 920,000 active user accounts, with an average monthly spend of CA$197.
