We will have more in the Wednesday' s newsletter. And, no April Fool' s joke.
Previously, Alberta market was in a state of transition, but now the regional authorities intend to introduce a model that allows international and local private operators to operate legally. This decision follows the successful experience of Ontario, where a similar reform led to a significant increase in tax revenues and increased consumer protection.
Regulators are expected to complete the process of accepting applications and issuing licences by July 2026 so that by the scheduled date, the world's largest brands can already officially offer their services to residents of the province.
