CS2 Premier Season 2 Comes to a Close – Season 3 on the Horizon
Counter-Strike 2's second Premier season has officially wrapped up. The news was shared by the developers on the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account on July 15. While Season 3 is confirmed to be coming soon, Valve hasn't provided an exact launch date.
"Premier Season 2 has ended and is now temporarily disabled in-game," the post reads. "Take a break — we'll see you soon in Season 3."
The second season originally kicked off on January 29, right in the middle of the winter competitive cycle. According to early plans, Valve was expected to end the season shortly after the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, which concluded on June 22.
However, the actual closure came a few weeks later, indicating Valve may be adjusting timelines to fit in with post-Major feedback and Season 3 preparations.
As of now, the Premier mode is unavailable, and players will have to wait a bit longer before jumping into the next competitive grind.

Season 2 of this crap is over. I hit 27,700 in this cesspool of garbage, and then came the cheaters - every damn match. Season 3? You play it yourself, Gaben, in your trash game.
I log into CS maybe 2–3 times a week just to farm cases. You get more XP in Competitive/Premier and waste less time than in casuals. FACEIT doesn’t give any XP at all. I haven’t touched FACEIT since CS2 came out — on principle. You gotta play there regularly, not 2–3 games a week. Otherwise, there's no point being in 10-lobbies — just ends up ruining games for others.
Why not go to FACEIT? Or is it full of cheaters too?
For me, cheaters started popping up in every match after 20,000.
Sad how devs act like they don’t see this stuff. Scumbags are still running around with spinbots and wallhacks, while the “amazing” anti-cheat just chills. Useless clowns, and the game is shit.
