Great Canadian Entertainment Introduces New CFO
Great Canadian Entertainment made an exciting announcement on Tuesday as they welcomed their new Chief Financial Officer to the team. Pauline Alimchandani is set to assume her role on March 31, taking over from current CFO Darren Gwozd.
CEO Matthew Anfinson expressed his enthusiasm about Alimchandani joining the senior management team, highlighting her extensive experience in finance, capital markets, and financial reporting. Anfinson emphasized Alimchandani's potential contributions to the company's long-term growth and value creation for stakeholders.
Established in 1982, Great Canadian stands as Canada's premier gaming and hospitality company, operating 25 properties nationwide in Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. With over one million square feet of gaming space, 19,000 slot machines, 650 live table games, and 60 restaurants, Great Canadian has solidified its position in the industry. Notably, the company unveiled the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, the country's newest and largest casino resort, in 2023.
Alimchandani brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served in similar positions with other firms. Her most recent role was as CFO of Northland Power, where she oversaw a global team and chaired the organization's investment committee. With 18 years of professional experience, including executive roles at Dream Unlimited Corp. and vice presidency at BMO Capital Markets, Alimchandani has been recognized for her outstanding achievements in the field, earning accolades such as "Canada's 50 Best Executives" and "Canada's Clean 50."
Expressing her excitement about joining Great Canadian, Alimchandani sees significant opportunities to enhance the company's financial and operational capabilities, further solidifying its competitive edge in the market.
Anfinson extended his appreciation to outgoing CFO Gwozd for his service to the company during a transformative period, which included significant projects like the opening of the Toronto casino. He acknowledged Gwozd's leadership and thanked him on behalf of the board, senior management team, and all Great Canadian team members.
JamesTheSpirited It's frustrating to see my state lose out on potential tax revenue because lawmakers are dragging their feet on legalizing sports betting. If other states can do it successfully, why can’t we?
ChristopherTheRadiant This is a huge step for Yggdrasil! Their games are always top-notch, and I can’t wait to see how they perform in the North American market. Hopefully, this means more exciting titles coming our way soon.
ElizabethTheWhimsical The proposed online casino license feels like a cash grab with those high fees and low RTP for slots. If I’m going to take a gamble, I’d rather do it in a crypto casino where the odds are better.
RonaldTheVibrant If Kick buys TikTok, it’s going to be a disaster for younger users. The last thing kids need is to be exposed to crypto gambling ads disguised as entertainment. We need stricter regulations on these platforms.
LauraTheMysterious It’s good to see brands like Stake.com expanding in Latin America, but I’m concerned about the growing trend of underage viewers tuning in to these stake game streams. We need stricter regulations to protect kids from getting exposed to gambling content.
KarenTheOptimistic I've been playing for a week now, and I'm especially pleased with the mechanics with dragons. True, my RTP seems to be lower, but it still flies normally
LisaTheResilient Yeah, screw this NO Limit city ... I've been riding for 3 months - nothing worthwhile has ever happened
markcampbell4r This sounds like a PR stunt more than an actual initiative to reward genuine streamers. With the history of manipulated outcomes in advertising, it's hard to trust the authenticity of these so-called 'max wins.' Are we really celebrating skill or just orchestrated hype?
AllenLaura1 This partnership sounds like a game-changer! GGPoker and Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto teaming up is huge news for poker enthusiasts in Ontario. Can't wait to see the upgraded poker room and experience those WSOP tournaments!
NancyTheHarmonious This fine serves as a strong reminder that operators must prioritize social responsibility and anti-money laundering measures. It's good to see the Gambling Commission taking action to protect players and uphold industry standards.
MartinezBetty Consider elaborating on what specific types of "enhanced gaming experiences" might be envisioned to give readers a clearer picture of the possibilities.
lisajohnson0h Haters can go to hell
SusanTheUnique Play'n GO keeps expanding, but it seems like their focus is more on growth than providing fair gameplay. With RTPs this low, it's hard to see how anyone can actually win. I’ll be staying away from these games in Michigan!
ChristopherTheXtraordinary It's worrying to think that Denmark’s gaming streamers could shift towards promoting casinos, especially with younger audiences in mind. Gambling content has no place in platforms where minors are involved.
Farewell to Darren Gwozd, and welcome to Pauline Alimchandani! Change is inevitable, and it's great to see Great Canadian Entertainment embracing new leadership to navigate the company's next chapter.
Wishing Pauline Alimchandani all the best in her new role at Great Canadian Entertainment. With her expertise and vision, the company is poised for even greater achievements in the future.
Exciting times ahead for Great Canadian with the addition of Pauline Alimchandani as CFO. Her leadership will be instrumental in driving the company's growth and maintaining its position as a leader in the gaming and hospitality industry.
Congratulations to Pauline Alimchandani on her appointment as CFO! Her impressive track record and experience in finance and capital markets will undoubtedly contribute to Great Canadian's continued success.
