Has Mizkif sold? How a fighter against gambling became the face of the casino
Matthew "Mizkif" Rinaudo, an American streamer with 2.2 million followers on Twitch, has struck a deal with online casino Stake, becoming their official ambassador. It would seem to be a common thing in the world of influencers, but there is one important nuance: just three years ago, Mizkif was at the forefront of the anti-gambling movement on Twitch.
Crusade against casinos
In 2022, Mizkif, along with other major streamers, launched a powerful campaign under the hashtag #TwitchStopGambling. In one of his broadcasts, Rinaudo did not hold back his emotions, calling gambling on Twitch a "disgrace" and calling the platform itself to hell for allowing it.
Moreover, he suggested that his fellow bloggers boycott Twitch during the Christmas holidays. This would be a serious blow that would deprive the service of the lion's share of advertising revenue.
Mizkif did a full 180. Three years ago he was rallying #TwitchStopGambling and threatening a holiday boycott. Today? He's the new face of Stake. Wild times.

What changed? According to him — he "was wrong about gambling" and he's done playing the Twitch ad game. The community… pic.twitter.com/9SqBvp2TiS
"I was wrong"
Now Mizkif has changed his anger to mercy. The announcement of the partnership with Stake shocked its audience. The casino is already mentioned in the header of his Instagram profile, where he has 351 thousand followers.
The streamer himself explained his abrupt change of position quite simply: he said that he was "wrong about gambling." He motivated his decision by the fact that now he will not be able to chase paid subscriptions and donations. And, of course, he did not miss the opportunity to kick Twitch once again, accusing the platform of "spoiling itself" with its advertising demands.
It's funny that back in June 2025, Rinaudo harshly criticised streamers who went to Kick to stream casinos, citing an unpleasant experience with one of the founders of this platform.
Reaction and disappointment
The community exploded. Part of the audience supported Mizkif, believing that this is a logical step for career development and that you need to earn where you are given. But most subscribers expressed deep disappointment, accusing the streamer of hypocrisy.
The most popular comment on Reddit was, "Money was more important than ethics." This post gained more than 2.3 thousand upvotes. Users believe that Mizkif betrayed his principles for the sake of a large contract.
I don't care. I watch him for the content, not for his political views. It's still funny.
It's just fucked up. At first, he turned people against gambling, and now he advertises it himself. How can you trust such people after that?
So what? Was he supposed to be a saint until the end of his life? People change their views. And if they also pay for it, it's just fire.
Wow. And what about his pathetic speeches about ethics and morality? Is that it, forgotten? I remember how he urged everyone to leave Twitch. And now what?
In principle, I understand him. Twitch really began to strangle creators. If there is an opportunity to get away from this bondage and earn money without bothering, why not?
Well, are you like children? It's business, hello! Such money is not lying on the road. Who would refuse? He's just smart, that's all.
