In the UK, cross-product bonuses have been banned since January 19
In the UK, on January 19, a new rule from the UK Gambling Commission came into force: promotions that actually push the player to "jump" between different products of the operator were banned. A typical example is the mechanics from the category of "bet on sports and get free spins in the casino". Previously, such bundles were popular because they allowed casinos and bookmakers to accelerate activity in several verticals at once with one offer.
Now the logic is as straightforward as possible: the condition and the reward must remain within the same category. That is, if the action was in sports betting, the reward must be sports (for example, a free bet). If the activity was in a casino, get a casino bonus (free spins, bonus money, etc.). The same applies to bingo and other product areas: bingo must be "rewarded" with bingo buns, and not something from the next section.
In fact, the regulator cuts off marketing structures, where the bonus becomes a tool for "dragging" the player into another product. For operators, this means reassembling promo lines and creatives, and for players, there are fewer "combo offers", but more transparency: what you do is what you get.
It's funny that they thought of this only now. How many years these "bundles" were twisted, and everyone was fine.
And I'm fine. I play in a casino, I don't need sports.
I'm just getting used to these combos... Sometimes it was really profitable: I made a couple of bets and the free spins flew in. Now, apparently, we will forget.
At last. These "bet on sports and get a casino" have always looked like a trap to drag into the slots those who were not going there at all.
