Las Vegas Revenue Declines, but City Remains Stable: September Recession Analysis
Compared to the same period last year, the revenues of Las Vegas casinos decreased by 2.3%. However, despite this decline, the city's total revenue continues to impress: according to preliminary data, it has exceeded the landmark mark of $1 billion for the 32nd month in a row a phenomenon caused by seasonal fluctuations.
The most noticeable drop was recorded on the city's main tourist avenue, the Las Vegas Strip. Here the decrease was 5.5%. Analysts attribute this to two main factors: firstly, with a decrease in the volume of bets in baccarat, and secondly, with the postponement of a number of major holiday events to August this year.
At the same time, statistics showed a reduction in the tourist flow. The number of visitors to the city decreased by 8.8%. Experts call the general inflationary pressure on household budgets and, as a result, a decrease in activity in the domestic tourism sector as the reasons.
Despite these temporary economic challenges, Las Vegas is showing resilience. The city authorities and business are actively continuing the strategy of diversifying the economy. The bet is made not only on traditional gambling, but also on the development of other areas: large-scale concerts of world stars, major sporting events and international exhibitions. Thus, Las Vegas confirms its status as a global entertainment center capable of adapting to changing conditions.
Oh, come on.
And what did they want? Prices were simply raised into space. A room in the shit "Flamingo" costs as much as 5 stars in Turkey. I'm generally silent about "Sphere". They are suffocating themselves.
Inflation eats up wallets, people have no time for casinos. We lasted 32 months on the hype after covid, now reality is knocking.
I was there just in September. It's still a lot of people! You can't push through the Strip. So this "minus 5%" is not felt at all. Vegas lives and will live!
