Ontario Online Casinos Set New Revenue Record in May 2026
Ontario’s licensed online casino market has once again rewritten its own statistics. In May 2026, operators generated $230 million, setting a new monthly high for the province.
Growth compared with April was 4%. Year over year, the figure looks significantly stronger: up 25.6% from May of last year. At the same time, the market also set a new record for betting volume, with players wagering $5.9 billion. The previous high had stood since March, when total wagers reached $5.87 billion.
This does not look like a problem for the market. Rather, Ontario is gradually moving out of its rapid acceleration phase and into steadier, more mature growth. For an already established regulated segment, those numbers remain strong.
In the first five months of 2026, the province’s licensed online casinos generated $1.085 billion in revenue. That is almost 30% more than in the same period a year earlier.
If the current trend continues, Ontario online casinos could exceed $2.2 billion in annual revenue for the first time. For Canada’s iGaming market, that would be a notable threshold: not just another record, but confirmation that the province’s regulated model continues to work at high volumes.
