Stop riveting clones!: Yggdrasil creator opens EXCO Games studio with innovative mechanics
Fredrik Elmqvist, an iconic figure in the iGaming world and the man who stood at the origins of the Yggdrasil provider, has announced the creation of his new independent company — EXCO Game Studio.
The first product of the new studio will be a slot called "VEGASCALINE", the release of which is scheduled for next week. Following him, the EXCO team will present five more games in the near future. To ensure the uniqueness of its content, the provider has developed a whole package of patented mechanics united under the name "GAMEX". It includes innovative features such as "Wrapper Stacks", "Power Field", "Boss Fights" and "Power Bar".
Commenting on the launch, Elmqvist spoke harshly about the current state of the market, calling it "tired and lazy." In his opinion, the industry is mired in the endless production of sequels and reskins of popular games. The EXCO studio intends to take a different path, relying on a unique art style and breakthrough gameplay solutions. The team's motto is simple and honest: "We will not release games that we would not play ourselves."
At last, at least someone said it out loud! The industry is really stuck. The same providers churn out reskins with different pictures.
Another office for taking money from the population. What the hell does it matter, what kind of mechanics are there, if in the end you will still be left with zero on the balance? All these slots are programmed crap. Don't be fooled.
Hmm, interesting. If anyone can give out something fresh, it's the old guard. At first, Yggdrasil had really breakthrough things, remember the same Golden Fish Tank. If GAMEX is at least half as good as their old developments, then this is already wine. The main thing is not to squeeze with recoil.
FIRE!
Well, it sounds nice, of course. "Unique mechanics", "shake up the industry"... We have already heard this a hundred times. In fact, it will turn out that "Boss Fights" is a regular bonus with a choice of items, and "Power Bar" is a standard accumulation of free spins. Let's look at this Vegaskalin of theirs, but there is little hope. Marketing and nothing else.
