YouTube tightens rules: from November 17, a complete ban on advertising gambling with skins and NFTs will be introduced
YouTube has announced a significant expansion of its gambling advertising policy, which will come into force on November 17, 2025. The new rules are aimed at combating the promotion of gambling using digital goods.
According to the updated community guidelines, any content that contains links to sites that offer gambling using digital assets falls under the ban. This list includes in-game skins, cosmetic items, and NFTs (non-fungible tokens).
This is a significant tightening, as the platform's current policy mainly prohibits only links to gambling operators that do not have a special certification from Google.
In addition, the changes will also affect videos promoting the so-called "social casinos". For such content, a mandatory age limit of "18+" will be introduced.
The platform also provided clarifications regarding videos that were uploaded before November 17 and violate the new rules. YouTube will not issue strikes (warnings) for such content. However, the videos themselves may be deleted or restricted. Content authors are given the opportunity to make their own edits before the rules come into force - they can edit the descriptions by removing links, or cut out scenes from the video that violate the new requirements.
I don't care
Delirium.
How many schoolchildren got into money because of these "case openings" and roulettes with skins. The right decision.
yes, they will forbid it. It's just that now they will not give direct links, but "a link to my tg channel in the profile header", and all the advertising is already in the cart. Hypocrisy.
YouTube is suffocating again! Where can I watch normal roulette reviews now? Sick of it. First the dislikes were removed, now this.
