Stake cancels $100 holiday bonuses, citing technical error; players complain
Stake came under a wave of negativity after some users lost their previously issued bonuses. The situation happened just during the holidays - and this, judging by the reaction, added fuel to the fire: people perceived the story not as a "failure", but as the most unpleasant trick on emotions.
According to players, many of them received a notification about the accrual of a $100 no deposit bonus. In messages, Stake presented this as a gesture of gratitude and a "special attitude" to the VIP audience.
The email sounded something like this: the operator "tries to ensure that VIP players get a special gaming experience," and the bonus was allegedly part of this approach.
However, only a few hours passed, and the accruals began to be cancelled. Later, additional letters were sent to users with an explanation: they say, the issuance of $100 is a technical error, so the bonuses were rolled back.
To somehow smooth out the blow, Stake representatives promised compensation: plus 10% to the next weekly bonus. But, judging by the mood of the community, this "band-aid" did not close the problem - many compared the lost $100 and the future 10% as incomparable things.
How the players reacted
After the cancellation of bonuses in the official Stake chat, the number of appeals and complaints increased sharply - people massively demanded explanations, argued with moderators and wrote that this "does not look like a gift".
At the same time, the hashtag NoDepositTill$100 was launched on social networks — under it, players began to post screenshots of emails from Stake and share how they perceived it: from sarcasm to outright anger.
Comments also appeared on the official Stake X (Twitter) page, where some users said the rollback felt misleading. For some of the audience, the key was not that there was a mistake, but how it looked from the outside: first a "gift", then a quick rollback, and all this during the holiday period, when trust in such gestures is perceived more acutely.
Honestly? If it's a real bug – okay, it happens
"Technical error" is a favorite excuse
I have already had this with another casino: they credited money, I even managed to enter, and then everything was rolled back. Since then, I treat "gifts" as advertising, not gifts.
oh by accident
I would have understood if they immediately admitted the mistake and really compensated the players, and did not give "10% to the weekly bonus". This is generally different amount of money. It looks like an attempt to hush up and forget.
