Towcester Racecourse to Reopen Under Betway Name in 2027
Betway has signed a major partnership with Orchestrate, the owner of Towcester Racecourse in Northamptonshire. The bookmaker will become the venue’s Principal Strategic Partner, while the historic track will be officially renamed Betway Towcester Racecourse.
The agreement supports plans to bring horse racing back to Towcester for the first time since 2018.
“They’re off! We’re proud to announce our landmark partnership with Towcester Racecourse, bringing horse racing back to the iconic venue for the first time since 2018,” Betway said in its official announcement.
The operator will take an active role in the redevelopment ahead of the planned return of National Hunt racing in autumn 2027. According to Betway, Towcester will become the first racecourse in the UK to include the name of a commercial partner in its official title.

Betway Secures Exclusive Betting Rights
The partnership goes beyond naming rights. Betway will serve as the exclusive betting partner across all race meetings held at the renovated venue.
The agreement also includes a media project documenting the racecourse’s revival. A fly-on-the-wall series following the redevelopment process is scheduled to be released in 2027, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the work required to bring the track back into operation.
Racing is expected to resume at the beginning of the 2027/28 National Hunt season. Towcester holds a notable place in British racing history, having hosted AP McCoy’s 4,000th career victory in 2013.
More than £2 million is being invested in refurbishment work across the racecourse. The project includes upgrades to the track, spectator areas and facilities used by jockeys and racing staff.
Seven-time Irish Champion National Hunt jockey and Betway ambassador Paul Townend will also contribute to the redevelopment. His involvement will focus on jockey welfare, the course layout and improvements to the weighing room facilities.
Mike Davis, Chairman of Orchestrate, said the Betway partnership had turned the long-standing ambition to reopen Towcester into a realistic project.

The project team is currently working with the British Horseracing Authority to obtain the licences required for racing to resume in autumn 2027.
Should the approval process remain on schedule, Towcester will return to the British racing calendar after almost a decade away. For the local community, it means the recovery of a historic sporting venue. For Betway, it provides a long-term role in the project that extends well beyond traditional race sponsorship.
