Vegas Generous Gesture: Three Legendary Casinos Start Accepting Canadian Dollars at a 1:1 Rate
The gambling capital of the world is taking radical measures to regain the loyalty of its northern neighbours. Three famous Las Vegas establishments - Circa Resort & Casino, The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate - have officially launched a program called "At Par".
Terms and Conditions of the Program
The promotion is temporary, but covers a long enough period to attract mass tourists:
- Validity: The program will run until August 31, 2026.
- What applies: Canadians can pay with their currency at a favourable rate for hotel stays, drinks at bars, and most importantly, use it to gamble inside participating casinos.
Why did this happen now?
Such generosity on the part of casino owners is not charity, but a pragmatic business calculation. Statistics for 2025 showed alarming numbers:
- Drop in traffic: The flow of tourists from Canada collapsed by 20%.
- Reasons: The main factors were the extremely unfavourable exchange rate for Canadians and the political instability that arose in relations between the United States and Canada.
- Market importance: Historically, Canadians have provided about 15% of all international tourism in Las Vegas, and their absence has hurt the entertainment industry's revenues.
The At Par initiative is designed to level the economic barrier and make a trip to Nevada for Canadians as affordable as before. In fact, casinos take care of the conversion costs, providing guests with a direct discount in the amount of the currency difference.
I don't understand, but if I win in Canadian dollars, will I be paid in American dollars? If so, then this is a gold mine! I went with candy wrappers, left with real currency. Although knowing their offices, there is probably a lot of small print in the rules.
It's high time. Previously, there were more Canadians on the Strip than locals, but last year it became really empty. I hope this helps, because the prices in hotels are already high.
Course 1 to 1? Just like in the good old days.
Fire news! With our current course, going to the states is a robbery in broad daylight.
