Blackjack with the dead: A demo version of the Black Jacket roguelike has appeared on Steam
Indie developers from Mi'pu'mi Games, together with publisher Skystone Games, have presented a demo version of their new project - "Black Jacket" on Steam. This is a gambling roguelike, the plot of which throws the protagonist straight to hell.
The only way to get out of the underworld is to beat the dead at blackjack. Victory allows you to take their souls, which are represented here in the form of coins.
Mechanically, "Black Jacket" is a decbuilder. The player will have to collect his own deck of cards, each of which has unique effects that help in the games.
The key feature of the gameplay is active cheating at the table. Black Jacket allows you to use dishonest techniques: you can force your opponent to draw an extra card and get a "bust", change the value of cards already on the table, or even secretly exchange cards with your opponent.
The player does not see the opponents themselves - only their hands are visible on the game table. Each "dead man" has his own special style of play and unique modifiers that significantly complicate each hand.
Some kind of crap.
"Change the value of the cards right on the table." That's interesting. It's kind of like in Balatro, only instead of poker - cheating at 21?
Decbuilder again... I am already sick of them. Everywhere you spit, there are roguelikes and decbuilders.
Ahah, "beating the dead in hell". The setting is just like in old comics. That's cool. The main thing is not to strangle you with a grindwall.
Oh, roguelike + blackjack + cheating? Sounds like an indie hit. We need to download the demo!
