Citadel Securities Invests $400 Million in Crypto.com
Crypto.com raised $400 million from market maker Citadel Securities. The deal values the crypto platform at $20 billion and marks the company’s first institutional investment round since it was founded in 2016.
The new valuation places Crypto.com among the largest companies working with cryptocurrencies and event contracts. For comparison, in March 2026, Kalshi received a $22 billion valuation. In the spring, Polymarket was discussing a $400 million raise at a valuation of around $15 billion, although the deal had not yet been completed at that time.
Crypto.com plans to use the funds to expand its range of financial products. This primarily refers to tokenized securities, derivatives, and other instruments that combine crypto infrastructure with traditional markets. Citadel Securities expects this convergence to improve liquidity and trading efficiency.
For Citadel Securities, this is far from its first major investment in the crypto industry. In November 2025, the market maker invested $200 million in Kraken, which was also valued at $20 billion as a result of the deal. The company, together with Fortress Investment Group, also participated in Ripple’s $500 million round, where the crypto company’s valuation reached $40 billion.
Crypto.com itself, meanwhile, is moving more actively into prediction markets. In February 2026, the company launched a separate US platform called OG, where users can trade contracts tied to sports and other real-world events. The project runs on Crypto.com’s regulated CFTC infrastructure.
The same system is used by FanDuel Predicts. Through its partnership with Crypto.com and OG, the service expanded its event-contract offering by adding new sports and entertainment markets, as well as combined options. As a result, Crypto.com is gradually transforming from a standard crypto exchange into a broader financial platform with stocks, derivatives, tokenized assets, and its own prediction-market vertical.
