ACMA Ramps Up Blocking of Illegal iGaming Sites in Australia
Australia’s regulator ACMA has once again expanded the list of blocked gambling sites. Following a review, the authority directed internet service providers to restrict access to another 12 platforms that, according to the regulator, were operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The notice was published on June 25, 2026.
The new list includes 7Signs, Donbet, Duospin, Freshbet, Slots Gem, Jacks Club, Lucky Start, Spinrise, Vinyl Casino and Wildsino. ACMA also singled out Pointsbetz.com and Chromabet.org: according to the regulator, these sites impersonated the brands of legal operators PointsBet and ChromaBet. For the market, it is an unpleasant but already familiar story — illegal platforms are increasingly trying to look not just like another offshore casino, but like a near-exact copy of a recognizable brand.
The scale of the campaign is already significant: since the first blocking request in November 2019, Australia has blocked 1,751 illegal gambling and affiliate sites. More than 230 illegal services have also withdrawn from the Australian market since ACMA began enforcing its rules against illegal online gambling more actively in 2017.
The regulator also advises users to check whether a wagering service is licensed to operate in Australia. With brand-copycat sites, this is especially important: the name may be almost the same, the logo may look similar, but the legal reality may be completely different.
