IGT expands $174M digital content portfolio with iSoftBet acquisition
International Game Technology (IGT) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire game content provider and game aggregator iSoftBet for $174 million.
The deal brings IGT PlayDigital's portfolio to 225 games, double the current list. In total, iSoftBet's content library includes 125 proprietary (copyrighted) games, as well as over 4,600 third-party games built on the company's platform.
The deal is scheduled to close in the second quarter of 2022.
IGT is the dominant manufacturer of slot machines and one of the largest lottery operators in the world. Last year, the company announced its ambitions in the field of iGaming and in September 2021 announced the creation of a dedicated digital and betting division.
In February of this year, IGT also signed a definitive agreement to sell its Italian contactless payment business to PostePay, Patrimonio Destinato, for €700 million. The deal will close in the 3rd quarter.

GreenBetty2 Having experienced the online gaming scene in Ontario, it's clear that Quebec should consider embracing this industry. The convenience of online betting and gaming is hard to beat. However, I hope Quebec ensures fair play and decent RTP rates to keep players engaged and protected.
